eee Universe
eee Universe, is the sphere you and I physically and mentally exist in, where we indulge in the physicality of the world we live in; what makes up “us”, the stretch of our imaginations and the limits of our minds. The eee universe is expressed into three parts. eee universe smoking zodiacs Art framed by function. eee universe is a series of studies of the physical landscape that envelopes all life. smoking zodiacs is a series of modern day memento mori that explores human mortality, using motifs from history that have trickled down time, such as astrology, Greek mythology, and art history. smoking zodiacs express the stretch of imagination that humans practice to escape ordinary reality. Art framed by function. is a series of experimental sculptures, where art is framed by function to navigate the complex forms of stale hierarchy and paradigms in fine art and fashion. Art framed by function expresses the malleability of the immediate physicality we encounter in daily life with a mere tweak in thought, conceptualization and actualization.
1. Mother Earth We humans personify the very world we live in as our “mother”—the woman that conceives, gives birth, raises, and loves us.
2. eee universe – study of galaxies The physical world around us becomes a concept the moment it is reconceived in our minds. The representation, disposition and scale of this concept changes upon the owner of the mind.
3. Desire The cyclicality of the Sun and Moon have been symbolic figures in culture and the history that shapes it for all of time. Humans have turned their gaze towards the “heavens” to direct their desires and needs, often unfulfilled in the physical world. The light of the heavenly bodies and the darkness that comes with their absence have represented the desires that humans hold in the third dimension
eee 세계관
eee 세계관 은 인간이 육체적으로 그리고 정신적으로 실존하는 공간을 칭한다. 즉, “우리”의 육체, 육체를 담은 공간, 그 공간을 담은 우주, 그리고 실제로 보지 못한 우주를 믿고, 탐구하고, 그리는 우리의 사상과 상상을 모두 통틀어 담 아낸다. 이러한 eee세계관의 탐구는 세가지의 시리즈로 나뉘어 진다. eee universe (eee 세계관) smoking zodiacs (스모킹 조디악) Art framed by function. (효율적 구조 속 예술) eee universe 는 “생 (生)”을 담은 그릇이다. Smoking Zodiacs 시리즈는 현대판 메멘토 모리 (memento mori)로, 인간들의 상상력을 동원하여 만들어 낸, 3차원의 공 간에 존재하지 않는 신화, 사상, 철학을 해학적이고 회화적으로 풀어낸 것이다. Art framed by function.(효율적 구조 속 예술)은, 순수 미술과 패션을 접목 시켜 현대인에게 적합한 모빌리티가 생동하 는 웨어러블한 작품들 (MOBILE & WEARABLE ART)을 창조 함으로써, 접근성이 어려운 순수 미술의 벽을 허물며 미술품에 ‘기능’이라는 새로운 가치를 부여해 기존의 ‘가치’’와 그에 따른 ‘가치의 결정’에 대한 실험을 선사하기도 한다. 일상에 예술과 사상을 품을 수 있는, 가장 우리의 현실과 가까운 물질적인 연구라고 볼 수 있다.
1. 지구를 품은 어머니 인간은 본인을 품은 세상을, 본인을 품고, 낳고, 기르는 ‘어머니’라는 대상에 의인화 한다.
2. eee 세계관 물질로 이루어진 세상이 우리의 뇌리에 들어오는 순간 사상이 되며, 세상의 모습과 성질, 또 그 사상의 크기 는 그 사상의 소유자에 의해 자율자재로 바뀐다.
3. 염원 (念願) “염원”은 3차원적 것들에서 4차원적인 것들을 만들어 내기까지 스스로를 불살러 그 험로를 밝혀온 인간의 염원을 그려낸다. 뜨고 지는 cyclicality를 반복하는 해와 달, 밝음과 어둠을 바라보면서 그 이상의 것들을 갈 망하는 인간 내면의 자세를 구체적 형태로 형상화한 것이다.
